Freshpet appoints Creature to creative account and launches first ever UK TV Campaign

 October 2018

Freshpet, one of North America’s fastest growing pet food companies, has launched its first ever TV campaign with Creature, where the brief was to disrupt the UK pet food market and challenge percetions about what pet owners currently feed their pets. The brand appointed Creature back in August, without a pitch, to bring some much needed Intelligent Misbehaviour to the world of pet food.

Freshpet is dedicated to bringing the power of fresh, real food to pets and has been a dominant force in the sector since its arrival in the UK at the beginning of 2017, adding £3m in value to the pet food category. Their campaigns, which usually run online, are well-known and have previously caused a stir around the world as they’ve featured children and adults unwittingly eating Freshpet dog food and praising it for it’s delicious taste.

In this new spot, we see some crying pups, fed up with their usual staid and boring food before introducing our bouncing hero who is more than excited about the prospect of eating a delicious Freshpet meal.

John Speranza, VP Marketing of Freshpet said, “Creature came highly recommended to us from one of our other partner agencies, and I can see why. At Freshpet we love bending the rules and shaking things up, and feel like we’ve met some kindred spirits.”

Ben Middleton, CCO and Founder said: “Screenings of Beaches, listening to Celine Dion and showing the dogs regular pet food instead of Freshpet was all it took to get the performances we were looking for the brand’s UK launch.”

The spot launches in October on regional channels and will run up until Christmas.
